The Harlem Renaissance was one of the most significant periods in African American cultural history. During this time, writers like Zorah Neale Hurston and Langston Hughes, singers like Ella Fitzgerald, and musicians like Dizzy Gillespie helped make some of the most incredible, memorable art in the history of this young demographic. In recognition of this, we’ve taken a map of old Harlem and mapped out the most important cultural hubs in the community. From important residences to key theaters, you’ll be able to see everything that made Harlem so incredible in its day.

Awesome infographic, the culture that grew in this neighborhood is amazing. Modern day music, writing, and acting owe a lot to people of Harlem.

The Harlem Renaissance has such a rich part of African American History. Many artist, musicians, etc emerged during that time period. I am surprised that time period is not talked about more.
This is a great infographic for my students. We do a black history unit and I will be using this as part of my lesson. Thanks!
